چکیده
ObjectiveTo estimate the association between household tenure and odds of hospital admission for acute lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) in children under age 2 years.
MethodsWe developed a birth cohort all singleton born Scotland 2010-2012, using linked registration records maternal Census 2011 data. Further linkage to provided information on LRTI (pneumonia, bronchitis, bronchiolitis, influenza, unspecified LRTI) admissions aged less than years. Using logistic regression models, we estimated housing at (owned, social rented, private rented/lives rent free) with before after adjustment parental occupational class (household reference), family type highest qualification level.
ResultsFrom 174,279 births 84.1% census record. Children whose parents were married or had UK-born mother more likely link In final 141,336 children, 7,486 (5.3%) admitted one during years follow up. We found an admissions, residing compared owned having higher admission, OR: 1.40 (1.32-1.47); living rented/rent free housing, owned, 1.18 (1.11-1.26). After socioeconomic circumstances, these estimates attenuated (1.11-1.27) 1.10 (1.03-1.18) respectively.
ConclusionAfter accounting tenured accommodation, accommodation be hospitalised first life. research understand contribution specific circumstances make inequalities hospitalisations early life is needed.

Adenovirus infection in children with acute lower respiratory tract infections in Beijing, China, 2007 to 2012
BACKGROUND Human adenoviruses (HAdV) play a significant role in pediatric respiratory tract infections. To date, over 60 types of HAdV have been identified. Here, HAdV types are characterized in children in the Beijing area with acute lower respiratory tract infections (ALRTIs) and the clinical features and laboratory findings of hospitalized HAdV-infected cases are described. METHODS Respira...
متن کاملModelling hospital admissions for lower respiratory tract infections in the elderly in England.
Despite the importance of lower respiratory-tract infection (LRI) in causing hospitalizations in elderly patients (>or=65 years of age) and recent advances in vaccine development, a complete picture of the causative organisms is not available. All hospital discharge diagnoses (ICD-10 code) for LRI in elderly patients in England during 1995-1998 were reviewed. Using known seasonality in potentia...

In older children the clinical symptoms, diagnostic approach and treatment are similar to adults, whereas infants and neonates present with less specific symptoms. Children post renal transplantation/on immunosuppressive medication may also present with atypical symptoms. Therefore in this chapter we will focus on acute febrile urin...
